I haven't really gotten any new questions this week. I still have a bit of a back log but I'm going to skip Ask Rizen this week and get back to it next week. For now I just want to make an update. This month I'm actually making a pretty big transition in the way I approach poker and the time I spend at the tables....
I haven't posted in a few days now, and I apologize for that. It's been a mostly uneventful week and I was busy (like many of the rest of you probably) making tax preparations. I had a strong Sunday though taking down the UB $500 tournament for over $22k. I got to the final table about 5th in chips, but played (and ran) extremely well and took it down with relatively little trouble. Not that the competition at the table wasn't tough, it was. I just had good timing and hit the flops I needed to to win....
I'm off to a pretty good start for April. I won the $100 freezeout on PokerStars on Friday night, and have made 2-3 other final tables. I came really close to nailing a big score last night too finishing 20th in the bodog $100k when my AA fell to KK all in pre-flop and lost a coin flip on UB in the 200k with 14 left. I feel like I'm playing pretty well this month so far, and so far the results are showing that as well. I've actually cut back on the amount of tournaments I'm playing this month ...
I've had some family in town this weekend for my daughter's baptism, so I haven't been able to update as regularly as I'd like. I ended up both maintaining the profit streak and the +$10k or more per month streak another month. I was close on both going into the final week, but on Wednesday I won the $50k guaranteed on Bodog and took 4th in the $40k guaranteed on Full Tilt to put myself well over the threshold. As I put that title in, I remembered that back when I actually watched Saturday Night Live with regularity, Weekend Update was always one of my favorite pieces. I personally thought Dennis Miller was the best Weekend Update anchor I ever saw, but there were some other good ones too....
